Our Story
Hi, I'm Kat — a women’s health physio, athlete, coach, and most importantly, a mama to two wild little humans.
I graduated from St George’s University of London in 2011 with a first-class degree in Physiotherapy and spent the first seven years of my career working across musculoskeletal, neurological, and paediatric physio in NHS trusts and teaching hospitals. A role at the Portland Hospital for Women and Children in 2018 sparked my passion for women’s health, and I haven’t looked back since.
I’ve always had a work-hard, play-hard mindset. As a competitive CrossFit® athlete, I trained hard and expected results. But over time, I started experiencing amenorrhea, hormonal fluctuations, and plateaus in performance — it felt like I was training against my body, not with it. That led me to dive deep into female physiology and dedicate my career to helping athletic women navigate their unique challenges.
When I became pregnant with my first, I was at the peak of my fitness — fresh off the European Championships, training 6–8 times a week. But pregnancy hit me like a brick wall. I was exhausted, off my food, and struggling to reconcile the advice of “listen to your body” with my drive to perform.
There was no clear path for someone like me — not quite general population, not elite — and I felt completely alone.
Back then, in 2019, there was zero advice for pregnant athletes or women lifting heavy in functional fitness. I knew things had to change, and I had the tools to do it. That’s why I founded Hatch Athletic — to bridge the gap and build something for women like me.
Hatch started as a community and resource hub for athletic mums, and has since grown into a full platform offering evidence-based training programmes, education, and now coaching certifications. We're now a team of healthcare and fitness professionals and support women across the full life cycle — from pregnancy and postpartum to hormone health, peri/menopause and beyond.
Hatch Athletic is dedicated to helping women get the most from their bodies — without sacrificing performance, identity, or fun. If you’re looking for high-quality, trustworthy guidance from people who understand both intense training and the female body, you’re in the right place.
And I’m so glad you’re here.
